MEET Kris Leubbert

Orange Line

Kris’ yoga journey started much like many of yours; her friend invited her to a yoga class.  After that first class in 2001 she knew that yoga was something that she wanted to include in her life.  In 2005, she made the leap to begin her yoga instructor journey by using money from a horse she sold to fund her 200 hour training with Yoga Alliance.  The plan was to teach a few classes to help her make some money to buy another horse but Kris found joy and purpose in sharing her love of yoga with others.

Kris has taught in several communities in southwestern Minnesota through community education programs and opened her own studio, Sky Blue yoga in 2008.  Sky Blue Yoga has had several homes over the years and welcomed many different yogis and practitioners to create a supportive community.

Kris’ teaching journey continues to evolve.  In 2020, Kris began her 500 hour training with Yoga Alliance for Yoga Therapy and Soma Yoga.  She completed her 500 hours in 2021 and is excited to bring this new perspective to her studio and expose people to the benefits of Soma Yoga.

Besides a love for yoga, Kris has a love for people and animals.  Kris and her husband have a small farm where she has horses, chickens, and goats.  She is dog mom to four sweet pups, three of whom were rescues.  She has a love for anything outdoors and you can often find her on a trail ride or in a kayak enjoying life with friends and family.
